Progress

Well, here is the latest on my courtyard room box.  A big thanks to my brother for helping me cut the wood and assemble it!  Here it is with the bricks installed and a start on the walls.  Still a long ways to go yet.... It's starting to come together though!

  1. This looks really cool , youd think the stone work was paperclay! What did you grout the bricks with, havnt tried egg carton bricks but would like to try but worried about them getting wet when grouting? Love your little barrel thats so cute! Kate xx

  2. Hi Kate, thanks for the comment! I sprayed the bricks with matte sealer prior to grouting them with polyfilla (drywall compound) mixed with acrylic paint. I have found the easiest way to apply grout was to spread it over the entire surface with my fingers to get it between the cracks, and then wiping it off with a damp rag. I didn't have any problems with the bricks getting soggy, just one corner that started to lift off a bit. Nothing major though! :) Hope that helps!
